RIGSBY WI, a funny and naturalistic graphic novel series, follows the lives of a group of average teenagers in a small city in Northern Wisconsin. “When you’re young, you have so little control over your own life,” says cartoonist S.E. Case. “Part of being a teenager is trying to figure out who you are, and that’s hard – but even harder when those around you cannot accept who you discover yourself to be.”

The series centers around Bethany and her friends Jeordie, Erik, and Anna as they navigate the trials and tribulations of adolescence in a rural town. From dealing with oppressive parents to seeking refuge in rebellious behavior, the characters of RIGSBY WI confront the harsh realities of teenage life with humor, resilience, and camaraderie.

S.E. Case’s vibrant art and naturalistic writing capture the essence of teenagehood, blending nostalgia, sweetness, bitterness, and humor in equal measure. Through her portrayal of relatable characters and authentic storytelling, Case invites readers to embark on a journey of self-discovery and introspection.
Praise for RIGSBY WI and S.E. Case has poured in from creators and critics alike. Tracey Butler, creator of Lackadaisy, describes the series as “everything sweet, sad, and infuriating,” while Tinted Edges praises Case’s ability to capture “emotionally charged interactions and sheer irreverence of teenagerhood.”
