Here is a tip that shows you the dos and don'ts when it comes to drawing a horse muzzle from a side view. As you can see the muzzle on the right has a more defined shape while the one on the left is a lot more narrow and has almost no shape or definition.

Before we begin, let's draw the front view of a horse head and face in four simple steps. Make two shapes, one oval and one round. When that is done use those shapes to sketch out the actual structure of the horse's head and muzzle. Next, draw in the eyes, nostrils and bottom part of the mouth. When you are done with that you can sketch in the detailing to the face. Finally, draw the shape of the neck, draw in the ears and finally the beautiful mane.
